January Events

Think your social calendar will be empty with the post-holiday lull? There's never a dull moment around Richmond homes for sale, where our real estate agents eagerly anticipate these fun-filled events and festivals scheduled for January.

  • Fast Fashion: The Depeche Mode Experience - The Tin Pan, 8982 Quioccasin Rd., Richmond, VA 23229
Fast Fashion: The Depeche Mode Experience pays tribute to 'the iconic 1980s British New Wave band that's still popular today. "Fast Fashion" is the literal English translation of "Depeche Mode." Just try to stay in your seat as the quartet performs faithful versions of songs from legendary albums such as Music for the Masses, Violator, and Songs of Faith and Devotion. The Tin Pan takes the dinner theater concept and applies it to live music and comedy shows. Choose from an extensive menu of appetizers, soups and salads, sandwiches, and entrees. Showtime is 8 p.m. on Friday, January 26. Tickets for the age-12-and-up show are $30.

  • Downtown Richmond Boat Show - Richmond Convention Center, 403 N. 3rd St., Richmond, VA 23219
It's never too early to start planning for summer. If you're in the market for a new boat or want to upgrade your current one, don't miss the Downtown Richmond Boat Show. More than 20 dealers, 60 boat brands, and 150 actual boats are contained in the 100,000-square-foot show floor. Other exhibits offer valuable information on docks, safety equipment, financing, insurance, and every topic of interest to boat owners. Enjoy great local seafood with fresh oysters from Salty Bottom Blue Oysters. Dates are January 26-28. Hours are noon - 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday. The $15 admission covers all three days.

  • Winter Horrorland Film Festival - Richmond Main Library, 101 E. Franklin St., Richmond, VA 23219
Winter Horrorland Film Festival is the signature event of Victims and Villains, a local non-profit that uses pop culture to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. Take part in a lively day of movie screenings, panel discussions, and socializing. The highlight of the event is a special showing of The Blair Witch Project, the landmark film that pioneered the "found footage" trend in horror movies. Co-director Eduardo Sanchez will be on hand for a Q&A. The festival takes place on Saturday, January 27 from noon - 8 p.m. Admission is free, but registration is required.

  • Vision Board Workshop - Resist Booksellers, 233 N. Sycamore St., Ste. B, Petersburg, VA 23803
A new year often inspires thoughts of future goals. Chart your course for 2024 and beyond at the Vision Board Workshop.
