Richmond Nonprofits

There are plenty of ways to give back during the holidays in the Richmond area. During this season of giving, our real estate agents ask you to consider these wonderful organizations near Richmond homes for sale.

  • Art on Wheels - 1600 Valley Rd., Studio F1, Richmond, VA 23222
Creating art can improve brain function, boost self-esteem, and increase opportunities for socialization. Art on Wheels provides creative activities for elderly, disabled, and chronically ill communities that may not otherwise have access. Their programs include visits by music therapists and performance artists for expanded exposure across the spectrum of arts. In addition, Art on Wheels partners with other agencies that offer assistance in the form of meals, transportation, and physical activity. The organization accepts donations of money and volunteer services.

  • Operation Paws for Homes - Chesterfield, VA 31162
Pets give unconditional love, and all they ask is to be loved in return. Operation Paws for Homes works to give abandoned or mistreated dogs and cats the bright future they deserve. The organization helps relieve the burden of rural shelters faced with limited funds and a shortage of potential adopters. With no physical location of their own, OPH partners with families around Chesterfield homes for sale who generously foster the animals until they can be placed.  Donors can sponsor a pet who arrives in poor health and needs medical attention. There are also several ways to donate your time, from assisting with special events to becoming a member of the Lost Dog Team.

  • Compassion Animal Project - 1601 Willow Lawn Dr., Suite 104, Richmond, VA 23230
Few things are more heartbreaking than lacking the funds to obtain medical treatment that a beloved pet so desperately needs. As an emergency vet who witnessed this situation all too often, Dr. Rand Wachsstock was inspired to found the Compassion Animal Project. Through 100 percent donor funding, the organization gives financial assistance to pet owners for emergency, critical, and specialized veterinary care. Their work also indirectly benefits veterinary staff, who often suffer "compassion fatigue" after seeing so many families unable to help their pets. Donate directly or shop at specified vendors who contribute to CAP.

  • Senior Connections - 1300 Semmes Ave., Richmond, VA 23224
Senior Connections is dedicated to helping seniors retain their independence and quality of life as long as possible. Services they offer include home-delivered meals, phone check-ins, transportation, and friendship cafes that promote social interaction. Their foster grandparent program pairs seniors with children who need role models and mentors. In addition, the organization supports caregivers and provides assistance to seniors applying for healthcare programs.

  • Richmond Metropolitan Habitat For Humanity - 2281 Dabney Rd Ste A, Richmond, VA 23230
The Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity
is a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the critical issue of affordable housing in the Richmond area. Committed to the belief that everyone deserves a decent place to live, the organization works tirelessly to build and repair homes, providing families with the stability and security they need to thrive. To support the Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity, individuals can contribute in various ways. One impactful method is through monetary donations, which directly fund the construction and renovation projects. Or consider donating gently used furniture, appliances, and building materials to the organization's ReStore, a retail outlet that sells donated goods to fund its mission.

Generosity and giving are hallmarks of the RVA culture. Want to be a part of this vibrant community? Contact us at Napier Realtors ERA to learn more.
