Bring Your Family to Richmond's Premier Holiday Celebration

Are you ready to get celebrate the holidays with your family in Richmond, VA? At Napier ERA, our REALTORS® love welcoming new families to Richmond, and December is one of our favorite months to do it. This year, our town's holiday celebrations kick off on December 1 with one of our favorite annual traditions, the Grand Illumination of James Center. If you like lights, trees, and holiday music, you'll love this free family event, which starts just before 6 PM at James Center downtown.
Here are a few festive things you and your family can do at the The 33rd Annual Celebration of the Holiday Season at James Center this year:
- Meet Santa, the Snow Queen, & Jack Frost
See Santa will be downtown to turn on the lights for the Great Tree, Reindeer, and James Center office building. He's not illuminating Richmond VA alone, though. Also on hand will be the Snow Queen (AKA local radio talent Melissa Chase), Jack Frost (another local deejay), and some of their radio colleagues. Your hosts will lead the countdown, and then flip the magical switches that bring thousands of twinkling lights to life.
- Enjoy Two Blocks of Holiday Entertainment
Downtown Richmond comes together for the Grand Illumination, so two whole downtown blocks will be closed for multiple stages and performances. Local musicians, ballet dancers, historical re-enactors, performing arts students, and other Richmond entertainers and artists will treat the town to their talents from 6 to 7 PM.
Enjoy these entertainment acts and more during our downtown festival:
• Good Shot Judy (featured performer)
• Silly Bus (on the Kids Stage)
• The James River Brass
• Nutcracker Cast
• School of the Performing Arts in the Richmond Community (SPARC)
• The American Youth Harp Ensemble
• Virginia Piedmont & Central HO Model Railroaders
• The VCU Trombone Choir & Friends
• Flute Forte
- Donate Toys at the Collection Sleigh for SCAN

Bring unwrapped toys for ages 0 through 17 to the Collection Sleigh in the lobby. Later in the month, kids and their families will get to shop for gifts at James Center thanks to your family's help.
